Toyota must win the 24 hours of Le Mans, this year. They never been in a better position.
Imagine how much a Toyota victory at Le Mans will motivate Nissan, they won't bare to have another Japanese automaker that isn't themselves, win Le Mans. And their ol !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , is already there. So unleash the LMP1 Mechagodzilla, Nissan.

Nissan is doing pretty good in P2. Not sure if there is good reason to go to P1 aside for the ego bit. The fact that they haven't let ego get away with them I think has driven their success as an engine builder over the last several years.

They want a more important motorsports project, something they can put innovation, and development power behind, and something that is relevant for their electrified future plans. The ZEOD is just the harbinger of a possible LMP1 entry.
